City Cortex opens on June 6th 2024!

Join us at the bank of the Tagus river and get to know the authors and their contributions to this project which melds design, architecture, the city and sustainability.

We start in Lisbon, in the Belém area, with a roundtable featuring Eduardo Souto de Moura, Elizabeth Diller, Gabriel Calatrava, Dominic Leong, Stefan Sagmeister and Yves Béhar, who will present projects conceived from cork as well as the processes employed when using this raw material. After the debate, the walking itinerary begins in this area of the city as a discovery of the pieces installed in the surrounding spaces.

Next, we will cross the Tagus by boat to Trafaria, where we are invited to get to know Gabriel Calatrava’s contribution to the project, in a moment of celebration and engagement with the local community.

The event continues later, back in Belém, where we will finish the day with the opening of the final installations, celebrating the event at sunset with music and celbration.
